Jolyn Hersch

Jolyn is an Early Career Researcher working within the Health Literacy Lab and the national Wiser Healthcare collaboration.

Jolyn is a behavioural scientist with training in public health, psychology, health behaviour models, qualitative and quantitative research. Her research focuses on improving communication to support people to make better informed healthcare decisions consistent with their personal values. She is particularly interested in psychosocial aspects of screening and testing, and contexts where issues around overdetection, overdiagnosis and overtreatment are relevant. From 2022 she is supported by a Cancer Institute NSW fellowship to work on improving informed consent around genomic testing in cancer.
