Dr Brooke Nickel and the Sydney Health Literacy Lab are leading a pushback against influencers who are paid to spruik medical interventions despite the weight of the evidence. They warn of ‘over-diagnosis’ dangers as social media prompts the worried well to seek out unnecessary and expensive scans and blood tests.
